    COACHING VERSUS PSYCHOTHERAPY

    There are some similarities between coaching and psychotherapy but I do not combine the two. Coaching is a separate role. While coaching contains elements of psychology it is different. Coaching is not therapy.

    Insurance companies require a medical diagnosis to pay for psychotherapy services. Many people who seek the services of a therapist do not have a diagnosable mental disorder. They simply have a challenge in life and want some help to resolve it.

    EXPERTISE IN HUMAN BEHAVIOR

    I will help you define and achieve your desired goals using a multitude of techniques such as mentoring, values assessment, behavior modification, behavior modeling, and goal-setting. And yes, I do incorporate my knowledge of neuroscience and the use of hypnotic and neuro linguistic techniques to help you achieve your goals. Coaching focuses on your strengths as an individual and involves teaching, problem-solving and numerous other techniques tailored specifically to you to assist you in achieving your desired goal. I bring my entire arsenal of techniques and strategies to our sessions with the intent to help you achieve your goals as quickly and as efficiently as possible.
    I will work to help you identify and achieve personal goals in the following areas of wellness:

    FAQ’s

    Can I actually change through coaching?

    Yes! Coaching can be the catalyst to help you make profound changes in your life. The coaching process is designed to inspire new thinking, perceptions and behaviors to enhance the quality of your life.

    Is coaching in person or virtual?

    In order to make coaching as convenient as possible for you, most coaching session are conducted either by phone or via internet; however, there are often exceptions. The time, location and frequency of meetings is something that we discuss during our strategy session.

    What will I have to do outside of the coaching session?

    This is a collaborative process and you will need to put into practice the skills and changes learned in each coaching session. You are responsible for your success and your level of effort plays an important role in how quickly your reach your goal.

    What about confidentiality?

    What happens in our session stays in our session. I will not communicate your information to a third party.

    How often will we meet?

    The frequency of meetings will depend upon what you want to achieve. All coaching packages include email support between scheduled sessions. During our strategy session we will discuss your goals and create a plan to get you there.

    How long does the coaching process take?

    The time frame can vary greatly and depends on a wide range of factors.

    How much does coaching cost?

    There are options and variables that enter into the cost. This is something that is discussed during the strategy session. All coaching includes email support between scheduled sessions.

    What if I need therapy rather than coaching?

    If it becomes apparent that therapy is a better option than coaching for you, then I will refer you to a qualified therapist. I do not do both coaching and therapy with clients.
